Subsidized Kits Are Available

We understand that some schools and universities may not be able to afford SHArK. Because of this, we at SHArK Science Outreach donate all of our profits to subsidize SHArK. We base our decisions on need, potential impact or your site, and demands for kits.

There are many grants and awards available to STEM educators. Edutopia and Teachers Count are excellent resources, which compile lists of grants. We encourage you to explore all possible funding options, as we cannot guarantee we will be able to subsidize your kit.

If you would like to be considered for a subsidized kit, please email us at with a subject line of "Subsidized SHArK Application." In your email please include the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your School/University
  • Your Phone Number
  • Approximately how many students will be using the kit on a regular basis?
  • How much can you afford to pay?
  • What do you hope to gain from joining SHArK?
  • Describe how you will use SHArK in your school/university (classroom, independent research, other)
